The Cafe Atlantic was a popular cafe in the Jewish ghetto of Shanghai during the second world war time. It provided leisure to the Jews living in Shanghai. Many musicians played there and made the Ghetto known as "Little Vienna". The cafe was no longer existing. But the Jewish Refugees Museum reopened the Cafe Atlantic with its original name plaque this month.

Shanghai Museum, established in 1952, houses over 120,000 pieces of ancient Chinese art. There are two auto related events in Shanghai this April. The Grand Prix F1 during April 12th to 14th and the 2013 Auto Industry Exhibition this week (April 21st - 29th). The auto exhibition in Shanghai takes place every 2 years. This is the 15th auto exhibition from 1985. Occupying all 17 exhibition halls in the Shanghai New International Expo Center and 1-day longer than the last exhibition, the organiser is expecting more professional and public visitors than the 71,5000 visitor number in 2011.

The flu caused by H7N9 is affecting Shanghai and the nearby provinces including Zhejiang, Anhui and Jiangsu. This is a new type of bird flu virus on human. The confirmed human cases have been reported since March 31st. So far there are 13 cases in Shanghai and 5 dead unfortunately. The government is doing the best to prevent the virus from spreading and reports the situation on a daily base. Shanghai city life goes on as normal. Local people are concerned with birds meat (chicken, duck, goose, pigion...) and heat from the cold.

Cruising season has started in March. More cruise lines now stop in Shanghai for 1 to 3 days. There are big ships like Diamond Princess, as well as small ships like MS Volendam, Crystal Symphony, etc. The two cruise ports are getting busy with the international passengers. Wusong International Port at No.1 Baoyang Road is close to the sea for big cruise ships. The cruise ships coming into the DongDaMing Road port usually stay overnight, enjoying a brilliant night view of Shanghai city.
