Mid-lake pavilion has been a tea house since 1885 in the Qing dynasty. The building was originally a pavilion inside the Yuyuan garden, and later turned into a meeting place for cloth business men in 1784. It is located by the zigzag bridge in Shanghai old town bazaar. Visitors can have a break with nice tea in the 200-year-old building while watching lake and passersby.

Fu, Lu, Shou, also known as "three stars", are often seen together in China. They represent good luck, prosperity and longevity. The statues in Shanghai XinTianDi are carved in an artistic way rather than the traditional look. The Lu star holds the old Chinese money (YuanBao) in the hand and is widely worshiped. It shows a nice combination of tradition and modern art, as is the style of XinTianDi area.

JingAn Temple is located in the busy commercial area of Shanghai. The Buddhist temple has a history dated back to 247AD. However, the architecture has been destroyed and renovated a lot of times. There is still the Ming-dynasty bell in the grand hall carved in 1369. The main halls were restored after the cultural revolution and now surrounded by shopping malls and office buildings. It is a remarkable building at the end of Nanjing West Road and near the former French Concession.

Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is in the LuJiaZui financial centre by the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. It is an entertaining place for family visit with children. The aquarium holds 9 different thematic zones, with a collection of more than 450 species of aquatic animals. Jellyfish is one of the highlights. The feeding time is of great fun. You may even have a picture with the breeder inside the tank.
