The Peacock Hall in the Astor Hotel (Richard's Hotel) was once a popular location for ballroom dancing in Shanghai. The hall held a dancing party to celebrate Queen Cixi's 60th birthday in 1897. Similar as many historic buildings in Shanghai, the Peacock Hall experienced its golden time in the 1920s, served as Shanghai Stock Exchange from 1990, and was restored in 2006. The Peacock Hall now serves as the dining hall in Astor Hotel.

Shanghai Tower in the Lujiazui financial centre is growing quickly, one storey every week. The construction cranes have already reached two-thirds of SWFC's height (Shanghai World Financial Centre building). The tower is going to be 632 metre tall with 118 storeys, marking the tallest building of Shanghai in 2014. It will be exciting to see the dragon-style building completed.

Liuli Museum is located near the TianZiFang art area in the former French Concession. It has an unique external decoration, big silver-colour flowers covering the walls. The museum displays beautiful glass works from ancient Chinese liuli to contemporary art pieces. It is now holding the 25th anniversary exhibition of liuligongfang.
