Autumn is a season of prosperity, especially when you see the gold leaves on gingko trees. Many streets in Shanghai are aligned with gingko trees. Gingko tree is also a sign for longevity. They are considered as living fossils. Planted in the Yuyuan Garden is an old gingko tree of 400 years old, matching the age of the private garden from 1559.
