Liuli Museum is located near the TianZiFang art area in the former French Concession. It has an unique external decoration, big silver-colour flowers covering the walls. The museum displays beautiful glass works from ancient Chinese liuli to contemporary art pieces. It is now holding the 25th anniversary exhibition of liuligongfang.

After the revolution in Russia in 1917, many White Russians (anti-Bolshevik Russians) moved to the free port Shanghai. There was once a big Russian community living in the French Concession during 1920s-1940s. They came as stateless political exiles, yet made their way to the middle class or even well-off business men. The Russians have built up schools, newspaper, restaurants, clubs, and orthodox churches in Shanghai.

Although Christmas is not a traditional festival in China, you can feel it everywhere in Shanghai. The shops have put on Christmas decoration, hotels with Christmas trees in the lobby, Merry Christmas wishes on the streets...XinTianDi in the former French Concession has put on the Christmas theme very early - Nut Cracker and the Kingdom of Gifts this year. The Shikumen houses will be popular among young people at Christmas eve.

This is the house out of a girl's dream. The girl dreamed of a house like the ones in Andersen's fairy tale and the father spent 9 years to build out the dream house. It is also a witness of the adventurers in the early 20th century. All the fortune started from a race horse. The Norwegian-style house Moller Villa is now opening as a hotel in the former French Concession.

The Marble Hall is amazing. It is another marvelous building demonstrating the luxury of Shanghai in 1930s. It belonged to the Jewish family Kadoories. Charity activities had been organized in the hall, many with the attendance of Soong Ching-Ling. She also contributed to achieve the current use of the building - the Children's Palace. Thousands of kids attend after-school classes here and play around in the Marble Hall.
