The dreamworks production "Shrek the Musical" is on in Shanghai Culture Square. The performance will play during July 13th - August 5th. The new theatre was completed in 2011 with a focus on musicals. The same location was associated with the biggest flower market in east China after 1997, a temporary stock exchange after 1990, a culture square after new China, and back to the beginning, the Canidrome in the former French Concession from 1928.

Fu, Lu, Shou, also known as "three stars", are often seen together in China. They represent good luck, prosperity and longevity. The statues in Shanghai XinTianDi are carved in an artistic way rather than the traditional look. The Lu star holds the old Chinese money (YuanBao) in the hand and is widely worshiped. It shows a nice combination of tradition and modern art, as is the style of XinTianDi area.

Most parks in Shanghai are free to public. In nice weather, you can see people dancing, doing exercise, flying kites, playing Chinese chess... Below is a picture from FuXing Park, located in the former French Concession of Shanghai. The cat in the park becomes very familiar with frequent visitors. It stays close to the man writing calligraphy on the ground.
